Kilter House, Coverack

Kilter House is a character property that can be found by venturing down a tree-lined track just above the Cornish fishing village of Coverack. Bought as a second home and holiday rental, this was a beautiful and eclectic project to work on. We undertook the work during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic and so it came with unique challenges. As the client was unable to travel, we took on the role of project management, overseeing all of the work that was being done, both inside and out. It was an emotional roller-coaster for the client being unable to be on-site and so regular communication was vital, both verbal and visual.

The property already had heaps of personality, and with the addition of a sympathetic extension, we were able to achieve a family home that worked on many levels. We opted for rich Farrow & Ball colours throughout, embracing the lower light levels rather than trying to fight against them, adding in sumptuous fabrics for layering and texture. This added a soul to the cottage, bringing it alive.
